“Never, never, never let anyone tell you that, in order to be Orthodox, you must be Eastern. The West was fully Orthodox for a thousand years, and her venerable liturgy is far older than any of her heresies.”
St. John Maximovitch of Shanghai and San Francisco
A Nativity Message from Fr Justin:
Wishing a very merry and blessed Christmas to all. The feast of the Nativity of Christ is particularly special because it is the feast of the incarnation of the Son of God – a monumental event in the history of mankind. The most high God comes into our world in the form of a helpless baby who doesn’t even have a pillow to lay His head on. God beyond describing, beyond comprehending, neither to be seen nor conceived, forever existing forever the same, humbled Himself down to a limited, weak creature, homeless and in danger. And this amazing self-emptying, this limitation of God become man has granted us the grace to participate in His divinity through His humanity. What a marvelous mystery and blessing we have been given! Let us thank God for his condescension and gift to us. God bless us all through this blessed feast. Amen!
